Master teacher, Rama Jyoti Vernon, in Centreville MD in October 2008
Visit Rama's website at www.ramavernon.com.
Our wonderful teacher, Rama Jyoti Vernon, is coming back to Centreville October 23 - 25, 2009. Please see the registration information below.
For those of you unfamiliar with Rama’s work, let me tell you a few of her many credentials. An internationally known yoga teacher, she is founder of the International Yoga College, the California Yoga Teacher’s Association and Unity in Yoga International. She has been teaching yoga for over 40 years and has devoted much of her life to peace missions throughout the world and using the principles of yoga as mediation tools.
In my 20 plus years of studying yoga, no other teacher has influenced my practice as much as Rama. She works hands-on with students in her workshops. Where her colleagues are teaching classes with 100 - 300 students, Rama works in small settings. You will get to know her and her work personally. Her work is focused on the breath, which for me is what yoga is all about. For more info about Rama visit: http://www.ramavernon.com/

Rama Jyoti Vernon, internationally known Yoga teacher, is founder of the International Yoga College, the California Yoga Teachers' Association and Unity in Yoga International. In addition to her extensive background in asana and the Yoga Sutras, Rama is extremely well versed in the philosophy, lineages and healing benefits of Yoga. Her unique approach emphasizes opening the body by extending and breathing into each pose as a deeply spiritual offering. She is one of the originators of the Yoga Journal and has devoted much of her life to peace missions throughout the world including the Soviet Union, Israel, and Central America. |
While breathing is fundamental to yogic practices and life functions, daily stress, chronic breathing maladies and environmental pollutants affect our ability to fully receive the benefits of the breath. How we breathe can deepen our yoga practice, alleviate problems and provide a more vital lifestyle. Rama Jyoti will introduce her signature approach to using the breath as a way to open the body to enhance asana, deepen spiritual practices and enliven day-to-day activities.
This workshop is open to any student of yoga who wishes to deepen and enhance their experience of asana, pranayama, meditation and mantra. For more info about Rama, visit www.americanyogacollege.org.
